The Rochester Stars are proud to announce that Nathan Billitier will be representing his country in the Winter Youth Olympics at Innsbrook, Austria. Olympic Gold Medal winning coach Ben Smith will be coaching the Under 16 Boys Select team Jan 13-22.
Nathan Billitier is the youngest player competing in the Eastern Junior Hockey League this season. “Nathan is a special talent. He is mature beyond his years,” says coach Tony Maksymiu. “I am not concerned about his age at all. When someone has the skating ability that Nathan has and is able to contribute to the team on a daily basis like he does, everyone around him gets better.”
Nathan is a local Rochester hockey player that has developed his game in the Maksymum Hockey program. Nathan has been taking private lessons with Dave Maksymiu since he was 7 years old at Maksymum Hockey.
“When it comes to work ethic and putting in the extra time, no one trains harder then Nathan Billitier,”
says Maksymiu. “He will continue to be rewarded for all of his hard work as his career continues. He is at an infancy stage as far as his career goes. This tournament will put him in a national spotlight and pit his talent against the best 16 year old hockey players the world has to offer.
Nathan Billitier won the USA Hockey National Championships last season as a member of Belle Tire 14U out of Detroit MI. he returned home to Rochester this year and competes on the Rochester Stars EJHL Junior team.
